UltraTech's RMC division bags four awards at National Safety Awards 2021

March 2022: UltraTech Concrete, UltraTech Cement’s Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) Division, has been honoured with four awards at the National Safety Awards 2021, including the Sarvashreshtha Suraksha Puraskar Award. 

 

UltraTech’s RMC unit located in Bollaram, Hyderabad, was recognized with the prestigious Sarvashreshtha Suraksha Puraskar Award (Gold trophy). The Company’s RMC units in K.R Puram, Bengaluru and in Baleshwar, Surat were both recognized with Shreshtha Suraksha Puraskar award (Silver trophy). UltraTech’s RMC Plant in Vatva, Ahmedabad was recognised with Prashansa Patra award (appreciation certificate).

 

These awards were conferred to the units of UltraTech Concrete as an appreciation of their sustained standards and flourishing culture of safety. It is also an appreciation of the Company’s excellence in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) to achieve the zero-harm goal at workplace.

 

The National Safety Awards are conferred by the National Safety Council of India (NSCI). Companies in the MSME category are recognised for their meritorious Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) performance and commitment to reduce workplace injuries, implementations of the best OSH practices and for continual improvements.

 

This is the third year for UltraTech’s RMC units being recognised for their safety excellence at the National Safety Awards in the MSME category. UltraTech’s RMC unit in Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai and its RMC unit in Sarjapur, Bengaluru were recognized with the Sarvashreshtha Suraksha Puraskar in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

 

In its constant endeavour to enhance safety measures across all its business operations, UltraTech has achieved continuous reduction of Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) in its RMC business. UltraTech is committed to ensuring workplace safety of its employees across all its operations. 

 

The National Safety Council of India (NSCI) is the apex level organization in the field of Occupational Safety and Health in India. It has been set up by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. The NSCI facilitates sharing of latest national and international developments and the best practices in the field of safety.
