UltraTech wins Best Corporate HR practices Award at NHRD event

December 2021: UltraTech Cement, India’s No.1 cement brand, has won the ‘Best corporate HR practices’ award at National HRD Network (NHRDN) Bangalore Chapter’s flagship annual national event, called 10th HR Showcase. UltraTech won this award for its HR initiative ‘PraGaTi’. The award is a recognition of UltraTech’s exceptional work in providing employee-friendly HR practices and constant engagement with employees to promote a people-centric work culture within the organisation.

 

UltraTech started ‘PraGaTi’ as a centralised online talent assessment and development programme last year. The award-winning initiative helps identify potential of the Company’s permanent workforce, guides this workforce, and facilitates career progress through skill-enhancement opportunities. UltraTech started this initiative through skill assessment, identification of gaps that need to be bridged and through encouragement to acquire new skills with tailor made development plans. The Company aims to empower its workforce through this programme and provide them an opportunity to excel in their respective work field.

 

In addition to UltraTech’s winning entry, four of UltraTech’s other HR initiatives also made it to the final round, amongst 24 shortlisted entries from various organisation across India. These four entries comprised of HR initiatives focussing on efficient redeployment of workforce relevant to employee skills, leadership programmes for manufacturing employees, a chat bot on the company intranet portal to engage with employees effectively and digitization of key talent processes.

 

About HR Showcase

HR Showcase is a unique trade show-style event for corporates, HR start-ups, academic institutions and NGOs to share their most impactful HR practices. This year, the event was held virtually on 19th and 20th November, offering an exciting platform to share and learn from peers and bring about new ideas for value creation of the organization. The 10th HR Showcase witnessed around 1800+ entries across four categories. The award entries were judged on various parameters like drivers of business, quality of framework, practice of uniqueness, rigor of implementation and strength of business impact.
